pahxc: Whats the new pitboss 2000 lineup?
J. Lockjaw: The Boss Vocals, The Talent Drums, The Speed Guitar, The School Bass
pahxc: You have two new cd's coming out, Pitbossmas and Boobie Crew, can you tell a little about them?
J. Lockjaw: Boobie crew has 5 unreleased PB2K songs and two covers by Sick of it All and Warzone, the Pitbossmas 7" is a rare limited release featuring unreleased PB2K songs and side B is all Pitbossmas Carols done the Pitboss 2000 way.
pahxc: What do you think of the hardcore scene these days as opposed to whenyou were doing One Life Crew?
J. Lockjaw: Its the same, some kids are cool, some kids are nerds, the same kids who talk shit and never back it up are still talking and not backing it up. Im in it for Fun and as long as the Fun stays, I stay.
pahxc: Will Pitboss ever do a full fledged tour?
J. Lockjaw: If I can ever get a booking agent and a band lineup that wants to quit their jobs to tour, we will do it, but as for now we have to do weekends and that means long drives on Sunday nights to make it back to work.
pahxc: Since OLC was considered by many to be a racist band, have you gotten a similar reaction with Pitboss2000?
J. Lockjaw: Yeah but we arent about right wing politics, we pretty much just have sexist lyrics, and we only do that because Im keeping it real with my love of 80'shair metal when sexism was huge!!!!
pahxc: How do you usually go about writing Pitboss 2000 song lyrics and music?
J. Lockjaw: I write riffs by themselves and then piece em together, I write a riff play it 5 different ways and decide what its going to be in the song, fast part, dance part whatever. The lyrics are written seperately in bursts of like 5 to 7 songs at a sitting then I put em with the music for whatever fits.
pahxc: What would you do if hardcore went completly mainstream?
J. Lockjaw: Sellout and write Blink 182 style HC, oooops who says Im not doing that now.
pahxc: How would you rate the hardcore scene in Ohio?
J. Lockjaw: Negative 10, it sucks
pahxc: How is Use Your Head records coming along, how long have you been doing the label for? what are some bands on it?
J. Lockjaw: Good, Im up to my 4th release and hopefully with Last in Line from western Mass and the Clenched Fist/Day of Mourning releases will do real well. I have faith in em, because I only sign bands I like. Ive been doing the label since Fall of 98 so its almost a year old, its a ton of work and all the money goes back into it, so Im in the building stages of rock and roll stardom.
pahxc: What bands have you been listening to these days?
J. Lockjaw: Kiss, Negative Approach, Last In Line, Pennywise, Agnostic Front, Rancid, RATT, Poison
pahxc: Do alot of people approach the band at shows and try to start fights?
J. Lockjaw: Never has happened :: Knocks on wood:::
pahxc: Is there anything you would'nt say in your lyrics cause you think it might be going to far?
J. Lockjaw: nah I love pissing people off and I plan to write a song about keepin the homeless warm, by chopping up the AIDS quilt.
pahxc: Were the lyrics to wiggario changed?
J. Lockjaw: Yes
pahxc: What crazy stage shit has the band been doing lately to keep the shows fun?
J. Lockjaw: I talk smack and try to do dance moves while I sing, not real ones, but moves I use in clubs, like the Lightbulb, the shopping cart, the broom, the seatbelt, the Lobster, cool stuff like that.
